Who wants to buy this diamond ring? She took it off her finger, now it doesn't mean a thing. -- Gary Lewis and the Playboys, "This Diamond Ring"
We do this in three ways. The first is by offering our incredible department store jewelry in wholesale lots at competitive prices. Take our earring assortments each featuring a dozen different pair, for example. We sell hundreds of these lots every year, and our customers go on to make money with them at boutiques, flea markets, craft fairs, garage sales, home jewelry parties and even on eBay itself. Here are some current offerings. We're confident you'll see the tremendous value.

The second way we help you make money is by presenting some of eBay's best work at home opportunities. Take the time to evaluate each of these carefully before committing any hard-earned dollars. In addition to these, don't forget to take advantage of online jobs databanks like the Independent Homeworkers Alliance. And check out this terrific article from Redbook about scam-free work-at-home opportunities.
There is piecework available on the Web itself. Have you seen Amazon's Mechanical Turk? Odd name, intriguing concept. The idea here is that computers are suited to do many repetitive tasks but there are some jobs that only humans can do, and that is when a computer needs a human's help. Mechanical Turk is a database of HITs. HIT stands for Human Intelligence Task. These are tasks that people are willing to pay you to complete. For example a HIT might ask: "Is there a pizza parlor in this photograph?" Typically these tasks are extraordinarily difficult for computers, but simple for humans to answer. A sampling of recent available HITs: submit a brief description and photograph of your Southwestern-style home for a website, create a how-to video, enter product nutrition label information for groceries in your home, leave a comment on the hybrid cars blog. Upon completion of HITs, funds are deposited in your Amazon.com account. Have you ever been a mystery shopper? Companies use shoppers for a wide variety of tasks such as checking cleanliness in a store, evaluating customer service and phone calls you can make at home. There are so many mystery shopper jobs available that you can, if you like, select only those that don't require you to leave home. Please be aware that you should never have to pay to get access to the mystery shopping world. Some scamsters may try to sell you information you can get yourself for free. Real mystery shopping companies never charge you. The Federal Trade Commission webpage is an excellent place to start. The Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) is the trade group that oversees shopping companies. They have a lot of good information as well. Our third offer involves this website, clearanceclarence.com itself. As you may know, running a website is a tremendous amount of work. Successful sites must be updated constantly, not only to keep them looking fresh so visitors return again and again, but to make sure search engine robots index the site. All this requires original content. Writer If you have a knack for writing and a keen interest in jewelry, you may be the work at home writer we are looking for. Interested? Browse our site and read some of the articles to get a feel for what we're looking for. Typically we use pieces of 100 to 150 words. We expect work to be website-ready with proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. There is almost unlimited upside potential here for the writer who can marshal her thoughts and knock out clever and interesting prose. A by-line is possible. You will work as an independent contractor and be responsible for tax reporting. We can provide a list of suggested subjects or you can run with it and write about what moves you. How to be considered for this position? Put together a sample article and email it to c l a r e n c e @ c l e a r a n c e c l a r e n c e . c o m. (Removing the spaces, of course.) We'll get back to you with comments and suggestions.

Personal shopper
Love eBay? Love bargains? Love shopping for other people? Would you like to get paid for it?
As one of eBay's top jewelry sellers, we daily receive email that goes something like this: "Do you have this chain in a 20 inch length?" or "I need a puzzle ring in size 11. Do you have one?" Invariably we don't have whatever it is these people are looking for, since we don't carry catalog inventory.
This is where you come in.
We forward these requests to you, our personal shopping department. You find the item online and respond to the requestor with a picture, description and price. The price will include your fee, which you can set to any amount you like. The requestor pays you for the item, and you have it shipped to her.
This is a great opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial bent who would enjoy building up a client base of repeat customers. Email if interested.

You should be comfortable initiating and encouraging a dialogue. You will be gathering data as well as resolving any immediate issues with product or shipping. You will be compensated on a per-email basis.
If you have the confidence to strike up conversations with people you've never met, you might be the person we're looking for. Email us at c l a r e n c e @ c l e a r a n c e c l a r e n c e . c o m. (Removing the spaces, you betcha.)

This one you will probably have to leave home for occasionally. ClearanceClarence.com is seeking an outgoing person who will do more than hold a sign on a street corner and wave it around listlessly. If you are an inspired performance artist, enjoy juggling, yoyo-ing or have some other skill that makes people say "Wow, where'd you learn how to do that?" drop us a line. Email us at c l a r e n c e @ c l e a r a n c e c l a r e n c e . c o m. (Deftly excising the spaces, of course.)
